‘NieR: Automata’ PS4, PC: Japan, America, Europe Sales Exceeds One Million; Thanks To Storyline, 60FPS

"NieR: Automata" developers have publicly revealed that the worldwide shipment along with the digital sales of the critically acclaimed action role-playing game has already exceeded one million. Previous reports have revealed that the "NieR: Automata" developers were able to sell nearly 200,000 copies in Japan in the first week of launching since Feb. 23. The game was later released in North America on March 7 and simultaneously in the UK and in Europe on March 10.

"NieR: Automata" Boasts 60fps

The hotly anticipated action RPG was released on both Sony PlayStation 4 and PC platforms. Upon its release, "NieR: Automata" was received with raving reviews. It should be noted that the game features action-packed high-speed 60 frames per second battles and a captivating storyline from Director Yoko Taro. Note that Taro-san was also the man behind "NieR" and the "Drakengard series."

"NieR: Automata" was developed in collaboration with Platinum Games Inc. The game delivers a perfect mix of action and role-playing gameplay, Indiannoob reported. In "NieR: Automata," players go into battle as androids 2B, 9S, and A2. The goal of the game is to reclaim the world for the human creators and to uncover truths that have long been forgotten.

2B Rough Model Images Revealed

In other news, "NieR: Automata" character modeler Hito Matsudaira recently unveiled the process of creating 2B in a PlayStation Blog Feature. It has been revealed that character designer Akihiko Yoshida created the rough design of 2B where Matsudaira-san based his rough model. It took him one to two weeks to create the character, Segment Next reported. Matsudaira-san further added that even the cost associated with mass production was accounted for when he created the rough model of 2B.

"NieR: Automata" game director Yoko Taro was then shown the rough model of 2B who liked it and appreciated Matsudaira-san's efforts. The latter then went on to add the details on 2B as well as Polygons noting that while the Polygon count for PS2 was only thousands, the PS4 version needed approximately 100,000. Reducing the data size of the 2B was also done so the game could run at 60fps. Check out more about 2B in the video below:
