'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Patch 1.05 Brings Major Changes

“Mass Effect: Andromeda” is BioWare’s newest and biggest space exploration adventure. Two weeks after its release, people can honestly say that the story and character development of the game have interesting turns and high value, but that does not mean that the game does not lack in certain criteria. The game’s biggest media flop were the terrible character facial animations, but with the introduction of patch 1.05, the developers have started taking steps towards fixing the problem.

According to Games Radar, “Mass Effect: Andromeda” was brutally ridiculed for the static, plastic facial animations of a few characters, among which Ryder him/herself. The poor performance in animation inspired the game’s community to create series of jokes and video montages, expressing their dissatisfaction with the end product. Some had even gone to the lengths of comparing the game’s animation to that of another major hit “The Witcher 3”, and no mercy was shown towards the space exploration opera. It would have been strange if BioWare and their publishers EA had not noticed the outrage and that is why patch 1.05 will introduce some changes to the characters’ animations. As stated in the patchnotes, patch 1.05 will add improvements to characters’ lip-sync and facial animations.

GameRant has shared an exhaustive list of changes coming to “Mass Effect: Andromeda” with the 1.05 patch. Now, players will be able to skip autopilot sequences in the galaxy map, which will save explorers a lot of vexation. Another much needed change is the improved tutorial placement, which will help get a better and more immersive experience. Also, a series of changes have been introduced to both the Single Player and Multi-Player modes. The changes include weapons, armor, profiles, progression as well as cover and enemies in the Multi-Player experience.

Changes are not only introduced due to gameplay of visual malfunctions. BioWare has also addressed several issues in the gameplay, which have been pointed by the community. First is the change in the male character’s romance options, which some had found quite unfulfilling at the moment. Another change induced by the community is the increase of the character’s inventory, which had been found quite limiting at the moment. One of the biggest changes coming to gameplay is the reduction of cost for remnant decryption keys, which makes them more easily obtained by merchants. “Mass Effect: Andromeda” is available on PC, PS 4 and XBOX One.
