It should be known by avid "Jessica Jones" fans right now that it there could be a long wait for Season 2. Netflix's Marvel lineup for 2017 is already set that some fans start to wonder where "Jessica Jones" Season 2 will fit in. According to latest reports, the series might still squeeze into the tight 2017 schedule.
Although "Jessica Jones" Season 2's official release date has yet to be confirmed by Netflix or series executives, it is believed to be ready by 2018. However, MoviePilot shared an interesting piece of information about an earlier return of Krysten Ritter's character.
The publication cited an unofficial Facebook page dedicated to Netflix in Latin America. Titled Mundo Netflix (Netflix World), the page shows a list of upcoming titles and provides information on some of the future projects in Netflix and the page does that with accuracy. The page recently released a list of upcoming originals that have been renewed and canceled for the period of 2016 and 2017. "Jessica Jones" Season 2 is on that list, suggesting that the series might return early.
Although the earlier release of "Jessica Jones" Season 2 would be exciting, it remains unconfirmed by Netflix. The list could either mean that Season 2's arrival is early or the start of production. Fans will just have to sit tight and wait for an official confirmation.
Meanwhile, plot theories for "Jessica Jones" Season 2 have been rampant. There have been theories about who the next villain will be after Kilgrave (David Tennant) and then there are also talks about how the origin of Jessica's powers will be explained in the next season.
According to theories, Jessica's immunity from Kilgrave may have come from Reva Connors (Parisa Fitz-Henley). It was rumored that Reva could also be one of the kids that had been experimented on. Right before her last breath, she placed a form of barrier on her mind so that Kilgrave can't get to her. This could be plausible but then again, it remains as a fan theory so it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
