Fans of the Netflix series have something to look forward to this coming Holidays. Aside from the announced "Sense8" Season 2 release date by May next year, Netflix will be releasing a two-hour Christmas Special of the series.
Netflix Announces 'Sense8' Christmas Special
Netflix has been relatively silent regarding the series for a while now. Thankfully, the long dry spell is finally over as the streaming giant made two announcements recently, a definite "Sense8" Season 2 release date as well as the two hour Christmas special which is set for release by December 23, 2016.
The announcement was made via the "Sense8" Season 2 official twitter account. If the upcoming "Sense8" Christmas special follow the usual schedule of Netflix releases, fans can expect to start streaming by 12:01 am PT on Dec 23.
'Sense8' Season 2 Plot, Spoilers
When "Sense8" Season 2 premiere date arrives next year, fans can expect the second season to follow the events introduced by the first season finale, reports Deadline. The series first season follows the lives of eight individuals who are psychically and emotionally linked, including their memories.
The cluster, or the group of eight linked individuals, will be under the threat of an enemy known as Whispers who is bent on destroying them. According to previous spoilers, the upcoming "Sense8" Season 2 air date will be particularly difficult for Will (Brian J Smith) as their enemy somehow finds a way to link with his mind, making him resort to medications to alter his consciousness to somehow masks Whispers' intrusion.
In addition, it appears that the cluster members will have a lot of issues to work out in the coming "Sense8" Season 2 release date. The upcoming season is teased to introduce issues within the group dynamics as their connection becomes deeper, exposing darker secrets and even perhaps challenging and shattering their ideas of identity. Indeed, where does one's identity end and another one begin when everyone is now more intimately linked?
'Sense8' Season 2 Cast
It appears that the actors portraying the main characters in the first season will all be joining the "Sense8" cast to reprise their roles. Toby Onwumere returns as Capheus, Max Riemelt reprises his role as Wolfgang, Tina Desai will be back as Kala, Brian J Smith play Will again, Miguel Angel Silvestre is back as Lito, Tuppence Middleton returns as Riley and Jamie Clayton reprises his role as Nomi. It seems that Donna Bae will be back as Sun as well, contrary to previous speculations that she may have a hard time returning to the "Sense8" Season 2 considering her other commitments.
'Sense' Season 2 Air Date
Netflix has finally put forth a definite "Sense8" Season 2 release date. After the two-hour Christmas special, fans will have to wait for five more months before the second season premieres on May 5, 2017 for ten more episodes.
