Technology Blackout News & Update: Huge Solar Storm To Wipe Out Modern Services By 2020; Climate Change Continues!

Scientists have warned that a massive technology blackout is about to happen, which is caused by a huge solar storm by 2020. The phenomena will affect all the modern technology that humans rely on.

There is a one eight chance that a huge solar storm will hit the Earth by 2020. It will be like the solar storm that occurred on 1859 called the Carrington Event. The solar storm is expected to cause widespread technology blackout and destroy internet connection, telecommunication service and power line transmissions.

The powerful solar storm or the Carrington Event that struck the Earth's magnetosphere in 1859 caused telegraph systems to fail all over Europe and North America. Scientists predict if the huge solar storm will hit the earth by 2020 during its cycle, it will cause technology blackout.

According to Express, senior scientist, Pete Riley of Predictive Science in San Diego, California said that the chance of huge solar storm by 2020 is high. In the event it happens on 2020, technology blackout will be severe since our technology is more advanced than with 1859 solar storm event.

The global technology can be affected by the solar storms if the radiation from it is huge enough to hit the Earth's magnetosphere. If the Earth's outer atmosphere heats up because of the radiation, it will cause to expand which will be hard for satellite signals to penetrate. Technology blackout simply means interruption of internet service, GPS navigation, satellite TV broadcast and mobile phone signals.

Aside from technology blackout, a huge solar storm can theoretically affect the power lines. According to Nature World News, the massive currents in the Earth's magnetic field can possibly lead to a surge of electricity. It can directly affect the electricity transformers and power stations and blows them up that can cause temporary loss of electricity.

Meanwhile, if the findings of the researchers and scientists are correct about the huge solar storm, the technology blackout can cost an estimated $2 trillion of the U.S. economy. It will take 10 years to fully recover as per the study.

As of the moment, while there is still no solar storm and technology blackout, the Earth is experiencing irrefutable climate change. The United Kingdom has experienced the longest and coldest winter while Japan has experienced first November snow in the last 50 years.
