'Pokemon Go' Latest News & Update: Legendary Pokemon Articuno Wont Be Appearing In An Event; Ditto Will Be Released Soon?

"Pokemon Go" developer Niantic has confirmed that the Legendary Pokemon, Articuno will not appear in the future "Pokemon Go" events. A player from Reddit and Twitter revealed that a notification from the game popped up as he was playing "Pokemon Go", telling him that Legendary-Iced Pokemon will apear in an event.

"Legendary Pokemon Articuno appearing in a special event," the notification said as shown by a screenshot. However WWG revealed in an interview with Niantic that the notification received by the player is not related to "Pokemon Go".

Other users from Reddit were guessing that the notification was linked to the "Pokemon-themed matching game" called "Pokemon Shuffle" which is available both on Android and iOS devices. However, there have been reports of sightings of the Legendary Pokemo Articuno in a Pokemon Gym in Franklin, Ohio.

"Pokemon Go players" deliberated whether the Articuno found in the gym was the real deal according to Comic Book. The owner of the alleged Articuno, Kailyn Covey, said in Facebook that Niantic gave her the Pokemon as a response to her email that she sent during the first day when the game was released.

Covey then speculated that the "Pokemon Go" developer gave her the Legendary Pokemon to create and build a "hype" for the game in order for it to be talked about. Another sighting of Articuno was discovered as a hack when a trainer named "Cash Kelly" created a lot of confusion when he showed him a video of  an egg hatching and contained a Ditto and displaying it in a gym.

Kailyn Covey was not the only player that was given a Legendary Pokemon in "Pokmeon Go". John Cheng shared a photo of a Motres which he apparently also obtained as Niantic's response to his email.

Niantic employees hinted in an interview that Ditto will be appearing in "Pokemon Go" really soon. The company revealed a code found in the latest update's "gamefile". At least for now "Pokemon Go" players will have to be patient for the Gen 1 Legendary Pokemons, Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos to appear in the game.
