iOS 10.2 Beta 2, Beta 3 News & Update: Apple No Words Yet For Official Software Update; TV App Really Needed?

The iOS 10.2 Beta 2 and iOS 10.2 Beta 3 release have become the pacifier of Apple to its customers who have been complaining about iOS 10 problems they have encountered. However, since this is only a Beta release, there will be no guarantee that the issues will be fixed, thus Beta testers will face new sets of bugs.

Apple has recently released its latest iOS update and since then users who have upgraded their device have experienced technical issues. The supposed fix for the iOS 10 update has gone wrong and instead of resolving the issue, it gave users different problems. The tech-giant decided to release iOS 10.2 Beta 2 and iOS 10.2 Beta 3 to test the OS first and report the issues that Beta testers will encounter.

Apple's Beta Program is the answer of the company to patch first all the possible bugs that iOS 10.2 OS may have. If a user is registered in this Beta program, this Beta software can be downloaded from Settitngs > General > Software Update. iOS 10.2 Beta 2 and iOS 10.2 Beta 3 are both available now to download.

According to MacRumors, iOS 10.2 Beta 2 update includes TV app, SOS, and some tweaks on its Music app. On the other hand, iOS 10.2 Beta 3 includes some updates in TV app, SOS, messaging app, but the video app has been removed from this version.

The TV app, as introduced at the Apple event last October 27, was added in iOS 10.2 Beta 2 and is specifically for users who always watch TV. In iOS 10.2 Beta 3, there is an added feature in TV Settings wherein users will have the option to use cellular data or Wi-Fi to stream TV content. Streaming quality option is also added both for cellular data and Wi-Fi, as well as an option to make purchases or rent an SD or HD content from the store.

Moreover, the SOS feature that was added in iOS 10.2 Beta 2, which will automatically call the emergency services if the power button of an iPhone is pressed multiple times, is no longer available in iOS 10.2 Beta 3. But, this feature is still currently available in India, only for testing purposes before deciding a mass roll-out to other users, Softpedia reported.

Meanwhile, there has still no confirmation from Apple if when it will release the official iOS 10.2 update to patch up with its poor iOS 10.1 software. For those who want to try iOS 10.2 Beta 2 and iOS 10.2 Beta 3, please be mindful to do a backup first so it won't give you problems and as the saying goes, "try it at your own risk."
