The next Xbox console, sometimes referred to as the Xbox 720, reveal date is close at hand with speculation growing about the titles that will be featured alongside the upcoming gaming console from Microsoft. Now it seems like one of those game could be the next Project Gotham Racing title – Project Gotham Racing 5.
While everything is in a state of speculation at the moment, a PGR 5 announcement at the Xbox 720 reveal on May 21st could be a possibility, owing to the number of rumors making the rounds on the web stating that the developers have been working on Project Gotham Racing 5 for the next gen Xbox.
The PGR series has always been developed by Bizarre Creations, until the studio was shut down by Activision. Bizarre was later replaced by Lucid Games, made up of ex-Bizarre developers, and were handed the developing rights for the future PGR titles.
Now, adding to the existing batch of rumors and speculations, Lucid Games has also hinted that the game could be announced on the same day as the Xbox revelation via a recent Facebook post.
The post reads: “So yeah, Mid-May will be interesting for the studio. We have some exciting updates coming. Stay tuned!”
“Mid-May” here is the keyword as this is around the same date as that of the 720 reveal. Although, it remains to be seen if the game actually ends up being announced at the reveal event, going by the fact that the game’s publishing rights belong to Microsoft Game Studios, the possibilities are still there.
