The MacBook Air still remains though Apple fans eager to get the laptop variant may have to wait for 2017 to get one. The only device expected to come out before 2016 ends is the MacBook Pro 2016 but buyers may be wise to keep tabs to figure out possible features the Air version will have.
In a previous post, it was mentioned that at least one feature of the MacBook Air would be the chip it will come with. This was tied up to the iPhone 7 which bannered an impressive A10 Fusion processor.
5K Display for MacBook Air Feasible
Apple is expected to apply it’s A-Series ARM chipset as well starting with the upcoming MacBook Pro and most likely the MacBook Air for 2017. Given that this will be happening, it comes to no surprise that the Cupertino company could possibly arm the MacBook Air with a possible 5K display.
This should be a big boost for the MacBook Air 2016 which was previously considered a goner, NDTV reported. A 5K display feature changes the fortunes of the MacBook Air which is still considered a demandable commodity from Apple.
No 3.5 mm jack too?
The possible 5K display addition to the MacBook Air slowly shapes up the device into an exciting device to expect for 2017. But does it also mean the removal of the 3.5 mm jack which has been rumored for the MacBook Pro 2016?
Considering that the 3.5 mm jack is the biggest take-away from the iPhone 7 and reportedly for the MacBook Pro 2016, it won’t be much of a surprise. With the MacBook Air best served as a thinner laptop, seeing the 3.5 mm jack removed may be imminent which will once again pave the way for the integration of AirPods, Apple’s new baby accessory that needs to be bought separately.
