"True Detective" season 3 was surrounded with cancellation rumors following the news that its director will be working with the "Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr. News just came in saying that instead of canceling the series, it would air in 2018 instead.
'True Detective' Season 3 Delayed?
"True Detective" season 3 was rumored to be canceled after executive producer Nic Pizzolatto nabbed a project with Marvel superstar Robert Downey Jr. However, HBO insisted that it has already ordered the series to air its third season, GameNGuide previously reported. Now, HBO seemed to have a target air date for its fans.
According to latest speculations surrounding "True Detective" season 3, fans may need to wait a few more years before the series returns to HBO, Christian Times suggested. It appears that Pizzolatto will focus on the new HBO series, which is rumored to be a reboot of "Perry Mason."
The new HBO series will be based on the CBS Emmy Award-winning series, which ran from 1957 to 1966. It has been Downey's desire to play the famous TV lawyer Perry Mason. Nic Pizzolatto will serve both as the writer and the producer for Downey's series.
