Nintendo announced eShop sales yesterday that will tie in to the release of Super Smash Bros, with games featuring characters from the fighting title offered at a discount.
Super Smash Bros 3DS Screens Show Off The Menu's Many Game Modes
There will be different games on sale every week, which we now have a schedule for. Exact game names are stated for the first week, while the future sales only list the characters who will be included, and not the specific games that will be discounted (for now).
The first week of sales is all about Mario and company, specifically Yoshi and Rosalina. The discounts will include older virtual console titles, as well as newer releases.

Week two of sales will focus on a wider variety of characters, mainly including The Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem games. Also listed are Pit and Lady Palutena (meaning a Kid Icarus sale), Mega Man, Captain Falcon, and Sonic. Again, the specific titles on sale beyond week one have not yet been announced, but they will be games featuring those characters.
Week three largely features Pokemon characters, along with the Wii Fit Trainer, Samus, and the Mii Fighters. Week four will include games with Donkey and Diddy Kong, Kirby, Captain Olimar (Pikmin), Fox, Pac-man, and The Villager (Animal Crossing). This all means that quite a few games are going to be on sale by the time these deals conclude, so keep an eye out on both 3DS and Wii U for any games that appeal to you.
