A trailer for Bravely Second, the sequel to 3DS title Bravely Default, was among the content that poured out of today's Nintendo Direct.

The new video, below, shows a combination of gorgeous CG, concept art, and in-game footage. The locales look great, and the graphics are even more impressive than the first time around. The trailer is in Japanese, so you'll be in the dark as to the narration unless you speak the language.
Bravely Default was a surprisingly good seller for Nintendo in the Western market, moving 200,000 units in its first three weeks on sale. The game sold so well, it helped cause something of a rethink from Publisher Square Enix.

"As for the AAA titles we're currently developing for series, we basically want to go back to their roots and focus on the core audience, while working hard on content that can have fans say things like 'this is the Hitman we know', Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda said back in March. "I believe that is the best way for our development studios to display their strengths."
"For example, in the past, when we developed console games with a worldwide premise, we lost our focus, and not only did they end up being games that weren't for the Japanese, but they ended up being incomplete titles that weren't even fit for a global audience. On the other hand, there are games like the JRPG we made for the Japanese audience with the proper elements, Bravely Default, which ended up selling well all around the world," he finished.
For now, the only release date info we have for Bravely Second is that it will launch sometime this winter--keep an eye out for more info, and enjoy the trailer below.
