The upcoming remakes of the Hoenn generation of Pokémon – Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire – will be available to U.K. buyers in limited edition SteelBooks, Nintendo UK announced today.

These limited edition versions, available at the game's November 28 European release, contain the base game in its standard box packaged with a sleek, metallic case. As would be expected, these SteelBooks depict the games' featured legendaries on their covers, both in their new Primal Form. Primal Groudon stands on the cover of the Omega Ruby SteelBook, and Primal Kyogre sits on Alpha Sapphire's SteelBook cover. On the inside of both, a wide shot of both Pokémon show them doing what they do best, duking it out with each other.
In addition, folks in the U.K. who preorder these games will get a figurine of one of the games' cover monsters. Players who preorder a limited edition SteelBook from the Nintendo UK Store will get a figurine of the legendary associated with whichever version they ordered. People who preorder the standard game from GAME will receive one of these figurines at random. Further, those who preorder at ShopTo.net will receive a 2D Torchic keyring.

There's no word yet about whether these limited edition metallic cases will be available outside of the U.K., but Nintendo still have a few months to announce other versions for other regions. Not being able to get a metallic case for a 3DS game is certainly not a deal breaker, but it's nice to be able to show off your love for the Hoenn region – not to mention having a case that doesn't always feel like it could snap.
According to the Nintendo UK Store, the limited edition SteelBooks are available for preorder for the same price as the base game, £39.99.
