Sony is planning to open the second round of pre-orders for its highly popular PlayStation 1-inspired PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro consoles.
The initial wave of pre-orders quickly sold out when it opened on Sept. 26, 2024, in celebration of the company's 30th anniversary for the PlayStation 5. The development comes after an alert was found on Sony's product page.
PS1-Themed PS5 and PS5 Pro Consoles
This was what revealed the second round of pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro consoles that sport the look of the classic PlayStation 1. Pre-orders will reportedly go live for a second time on Oct. 29, 2024, at noon ET.
The PS-1-themed anniversary consoles are limited-time models and include a variety of accessories that celebrate three decades of gaming. The items look to be paying tribute to the original console that launched in 1994 in Japan, according to Engadget.

The 30th Anniversary PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro models sport a sleek gray color scheme that features the classic PlayStation logo. The product pages show the message "Please check back on October 29th from 9 AM PDT."
This particular message can be seen on the product pages of the PlayStation 5 Slim Bundle which costs $500 and the DualSense controller which costs $80. What is worth noting is that the message is not seen on the PlayStation Pro bundle or the PlayStation Portal product pages.
PlayStation's 30th Anniversary
The 30th Anniversary models come with 1 TB of internal storage along with one DualSense controller that all have a one-year warranty. People who are eager to buy the products can only buy one console per order as it is a sale running through PS Direct, Laptop Mag said.
Anyone who has tried to get one of Sony's restocks of pre-orders before knows the difficulty of actually trying to secure one for themselves. It is recommended to pre-load the deals page and log into your PlayStation account so that you are ready to make the purchase when they go live.
PlayStation platform business CEO Hideaki Nishino also talked a little bit about the recent celebrations. He said that for this year, they had to create something that "honored the history and joy that PlayStation has brought us all."
There is also a 30th-anniversary collection that has a PlayStation 5 Pro bundle with the upgraded console, two controllers, a charging station, a console stand, a sticker, and a matching cover for those who purchase the Pro disc drive, according to The Verge.
