Mob Entertainment shared a new trailer for Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 that showcases a new character, which is set to be the next game's villain.
The reveal also gave fans of the franchise the name of this particularly cute-looking enemy, Yarnaby. It seems like the new villain is a toy made of yarn that seems to be adorable at first glance.

But as this is Poppy Playtime, this little doll is most likely far from the adorably little toy it makes itself out to be. The new trailer showed an eerie scene that ended with the reveal of Yarnaby splitting its head to reveal a set of horrifying teeth.
The new villain's reveal follows the franchise's similar unveiling of previous enemies, such as Huggy Wuggy, CatNap, and Mommy Long Legs. All of the aforementioned characters were terrifying in their own way as they are part of the series' haunted-toy-factory-come-to-life lore, according to Eurogamer.

The latest game in the franchise was originally revealed earlier this month and has a January 2025 release date for PC. Many fans of the series expect that a console version of the new game will come sometime after that.
The first three chapters of the franchise are available on both PlayStation and Xbox consoles years after their PC releases. The developers also announced that the second and third games will soon come to the Nintendo Switch, mobile devices, and Epic Games Store and are now available for pre-order before their Oct. 31, 2024, release.
A Terrifying New Villain
Mob Entertainment released the first game in the series in 2021 and has players taking on the role of a former employee of the Playtime Co. toy factory. You are mysteriously called back to the abandoned manufacturing facility after the workers inside suddenly disappeared, Game Rant said.
The latest trailer that showcased Yarnaby gave fans a glimpse of how the new terrifying villain will try to get you. Mob Entertainment CEO Zach Belanger said in April that the latest game's villain was one of the most exciting for the team to develop.
A lot of people who watched the reveal trailer are praising the developers for their success in mixing cute and terrifying aesthetics with Yarnaby. They also praised the studio's efforts to create tension and dread without simply relying on jump scares.
The latest trailer comes after a teaser last month that showed players an early look at the lower levels of the Playtime Co. factory. This new area was found to be filled with a massive pile of discarded toys, according to Screen Rant.
