Bungie is now investigating a possible problem with Destiny 2's weapon perks RNG following community backlash to skewed odds.
The development comes after the studio initially denied that its popular shooter had any problems with how it rolls for weapon perks. Bungie said it is not "investigating a potential issue within its code for how RNG perks are generated."
Bungie Investigating Destiny 2 Weapon Perk RNG
The previous statement of the studio was that there was no perk weighting that was active for any legendary weapon perks that are available in Destiny 2. Many players have been talking about the "god roll" for the latest grenade launcher VS Chill Inhibitor for the past week.
Many people argued that "Envious Arsenal" and "Bait and Switch" as a combo were nearly impossible to get. This comes despite the two perks being relatively common on other weapons, according to Eurogamer.
During the initial wave of doubts, Bungie said that they had a conversation with their Sandbox folks regarding the issue. This is when the studio said that there was no such thing as weighting for legendary weapon perks.

The developer continued to say that they have added perk attunement for Exotic Class Items in the game's latest update. However, it noted that this was an entirely different system to what was being talked about now.
After Bungie finally acknowledged a potential issue with the weapon perk system, the studio said it is rapidly working to fix the bug. It has only been a few days since the matter was brought up but many believe it has been going on for a long time now, PCGamesN said.
A Potentially Significant Bug
Bungie finally heard the calls of players after some people sent a large amount of data showing how rare some perks were. Grinding activities to get a chance at the god roll of perks for a weapon is one of the core features of Destiny 2.
This means that having a major problem with this system is a significant issue that many players take seriously. The studio said that the issue was found within the code that made some combinations of perks harder to get compared to others.
Destiny 2 player SparkD2 was among the first to share a detailed analysis that was backed by data showing that there was weighting active for weapon perks in the game. He argued that some combinations were much less common than they should be based on Bungie's statements, according to The Game Post.
