Bellwright Patch Notes Reveal New Content, Features To Be Added in New Forestry Update

Bellwright is another medieval city-building game that competes with the likes of Manor Lords and the more modern-style Cities Skylines 2, which has recently released the patch notes for its upcoming Forestry update.

Competing against a title like Manor Lords is no easy feat, as it was recently the most wish-listed game on Steam prior to its early access release. But Bellwright is launching its first major update in an effort to attract more players to its fan base.

Bellwright's new Forestry update addressed a lot of the major concerns that players have raised about the game so far. The game is a city-building and strategy game that has players exploring a medieval open world, finding a series of settlements, and raising a militia to rebel against the corrupt monarchy.

The new update can be broken down into three components, the first of which is scouring the land while searching for an ideal location to create a new village.

The second is designing, building, and maintaining a township while recruiting locals to work in shops, fetch supplies, and man battlements, according to PCGamesN.

The last is leading your newly found army against the King's marauding troops, capturing an outpost, and once more searching for the perfect spot for a new settlement. What is also worth noting is that players will be able to connect them and form trade routes.

The Forestry update was designed to address all of the main issues with Bellwright that players have raised so far.

It introduces a new building where they can finally grow saplings and use them to replenish nearby forests. This means that if you found yourself lacking some wood, this would be a very useful update.

Another new thing in the latest update is that it makes it easier for players to prepare companions and soldiers for expeditions. Instead of manually equipping them yourself, you will be able to send them to the new staging area where they will gradually stock up on all the necessary provisions.

A Variety of New Features

The game's developer, Donkey Crew, said that when players assign a companion to the new Staging Ground, they can automatically stock up on equipment, which significantly cuts down on resource management. Furthermore, they added new Tier 3 buildings and several important gameplay updates, said ComicBook.

The Forestry update comes after a long month of improvements and bug fixes, which is the first of many content updates for Bellwright. The changes include a lot of tweaks and improvements as well as an overhaul for the Windmill and Bakery buildings.

Bellwright's latest update comes alongside Steam's Open World Survival Crafting Fest which runs until June 3, 2024. It fixes a variety of gameplay issues and introduces several quality-of-life features that have been refined to elevate players' gaming experience.

Donkey Crew is an independent video game studio that is made up of veteran developers from all across the world. The studio started as a small team of passionate gamers who worked within a large Mount & Blade modding community, according to GamesPress.
