On top of these, the latest patch also includes a solid list of bug fixes that address certain problems throughout the game. However, it also seems that Moon Studios is keeping a close watch on player feedback for quality-of-life fixes.

With regards to player experience, the new patch now allows for custom key rebinding options for those who play on keyboards. It also adds new item sorting, faster player housing access, more slots in chests and cupboards, and a fix to the Cinematic Skip prompt, according to MMORPG.

Some of the things that have been added with the latest patch include a new house called "The Knot," as well as a Tier 3 armor set known as "False Ones." The release of the patch is seen as an optimistic early stage for the early access game.

The team also said in the patch notes that it brings significant CPU and GPU performance improvements, particularly with traversal and "heavy" areas. It also increases inventory stacks, chest inventory access at vendors/crafting, bows using stamina, early housing access, and others.

With how long the list of updates and changes that have been made to the game by the latest patch, Moon Studios has also revised the game's recommended PC specs. The changes that affect these include optimized Prologue Outro, Ship Attack, Phalen Armada, and Sacrament Intro cinematics.

Addressing a Variety of Issues

The patch also optimizes content loading and unloading in an effort to reduce dropped frames and improve the game's baseline performance. Enemies in No Rest for the Wicked also received some love as the patch makes them "faster to instantiate across the board," said Eurogamer.

The CEO of Moon Studios, Thomas Mahler, compared No Rest for the Wicked to Lord of the Rings, saying that there is a lot coming to the RPG game after its 1.0 release. He added that players should not be expecting a third game in the Ori franchise "any time soon."

The patch comes as the game's early access launch was anything but smooth as it was plagued with a variety of issues both technical and gameplay-wise. Due to being an early-access game, No Rest for the Wicked is relying heavily on player feedback to address its problems.

Prior to the latest patch, players have helped Moon Studios, which in turn released several smaller hotfixes to the game. This allowed the developer to quickly fix some of the issues that have been observed in the last two weeks.

These hotfixes include minor changes to core gameplay mechanics such as loot, gear durability, and combat mechanics, according to GameRant.
