A total of 27 selectable racers have already been announced for Mario Kart 8, but it looks as though Nintendo's racer has at least 3 more characters yet to be revealed.
The picture above from MarioPartyLegacy shows just that. It's hard to make out, but look closely and you'll see the following characters: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, their respective infant versions, Yoshi, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Toad, Koopa Troopa, Toadette, Wario, Waluigi, Rosalina, Shy Guy, Metal Mario, Lakitu, and Bowser's kids Larry, Morton, Wendy, Iggy, Roy, Lemmy, and Ludwig.
But there are three question marks for characters yet to be announced. With Nintendo's plumber mascot appearing in well over 200 games, that leaves a lot of possibilities for potential selectable characters, including racers from past Mario Kart games, such as: Honey Queen and WIggler, Mii, Funky Kong, Dry Bones, Dry Bowser, King Boo, Birdo, and others.
With Mario Kart 8 set to release next month, we should hear about these three unidentified players soon enough.
Beyond the new chracters, Mario Kart 8 also adds in new items, anti-gravity, both new and favorite retro tracks, and the return of bikes, gliders, and underwater driving. Check out our hands-on preview of the game here.
