Magic: The Gathering to Introduce Cowboy Bebop Cards: Here’s How to Get Yours

Wizards of the Coast has announced an exciting collaboration set to debut later this year. In celebration of the Outlaws of Thunder Junction expansion, the renowned trading card game, Magic: The Gathering, will fuse with the beloved anime series Cowboy Bebop. This partnership introduces five special cards, each featuring alternate versions of existing cards adorned with artwork inspired by the iconic Cowboy Bebop intro sequence.

How to Obtain Cowboy Bebop Cards

Initially slated as an exclusive release in Japan, Wizards has now confirmed that players worldwide can acquire these exclusive cards by participating in weekly Standard Showdown events at any Wizards Play Network (WPN) store, beginning August 2. Players can locate their nearest participating store using Wizards of the Coast's convenient store locator tool available on their official website.

Card Availability Schedule

The Cowboy Bebop card distribution will unfold gradually, with each card becoming available during specific timeframes over the course of the next year. The schedule is as follows:

  • Ossification (Tinybones): August 2 to September 19
  • Disdainful Stroke (Oko): September 27 to November 7
  • Go for the Throat (Rakdos): November 15 to January 30, 2025
  • Lightning Strike (Thunder Junction variant): February 7 to March 2
  • Snakeskin Veil (Vraska): April 4 to May 29

Players keen on collecting all cards should plan their attendance accordingly, as each card will be distributed exclusively during its designated timeframe.
