Some people might be picking up Wolfenstein: The New Order just for the DOOM beta access, but the game itself is certainly looking cooler and cooler.
The newest gameplay trailer just furthers that. If you start watching it and think you're watching a new trailer for a FIFA "classics" mode or something, just give it another second. Yeah, now you see what I'm talking about. Apparently all soccer refs in the alternate reality Nazi-controlled world carry Lugers to enforce the rules. I guess that's one way to stop soccer players from complaining all the time! (Zing!)
Anyway, on to, like, the actual reason we're here. We hear from main character BJ Blazkowicz:
"Everything has gone to shit. Out-classed and out-gunned, and we can't catch up. People are getting desperate. People are dyin'. The resistance calls on you."
Sweet. We then see some footage of the uprising, and some fighting back against the Nazi regime. But then things get real interesting at about the 1:50 mark. That's when we get to see some of the mech-busting (and people-annihilating) weapons that you'll get your hands on.
We see a gun that just explodes people on sight. Dual-wielded laser rifles. A gun with a built-in laser metal cutter that lets you cut through cover to shoot enemies. A grenade (what? Boring). And a couple of dual-wielded SMGs (also boring).
I'll say this much: this game doesn't look like the most fantastic game graphically (it's no inFamous: Second Son, that's for sure), but it sure does look like a fast-shooting, explosion-y man fest of a game. Be sure to check the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments.
