Shenhe, according to a post in the PlayStation Blog's webpage, is a 5-Star Cryo user that wields a polearm, and described to be a part of a family of exorcists, but was raised by the Cloud Retainer as her disciple.
In battle, she can summon a Talisman Spirit that can aide her, as well as being a support to her fellow party mates as her Elemental Skill and Elemental Boost can increase their Cryo damage.
On the other hand, the combination of the same Elemental Skill and her Passive Talent can give them the choice of either boosting the Elemental Skill and Burst damage of the party, or their Normal, Plunging, and Charged Attack damage.
Meanwhile, Yun Jin, a 4-Star Geo user wielding a polearm, is a Peking Opera master that can also provide strong support to her party, especially those who favor Normal Attacks.
Her Elemental Skill can shield herself and can charge up for a more powerful strike, while her Elemental Burst can cause area of effect (AoE) Geo damage, while granting her nearby teammates a boost in their Normal Attacks based on her defense, which it can be further increased if they have Visions in their party.
Both of Shenhe and Yun Jin will be available in the first Event Wish once the Version 2.4 Update rolls out, which according to Comicbook, will be officially released this coming January 5th, 2022.
Along with the new characters, a separate Event Wish will also be released during the said version update's release, which will include 5-Star characters, Zhongli and Ganyu.
Aside from these Event Wishes, the Version 2.4 Update will also give Genshin Impact players the chance to pick any 4-Star Liyue native character of their choosing in the Lantern Rite event, which they could do if they fulfill certain requirements.
According to Forbes, they can now have either Xinqui, Beidou, Xiangliang, Ningguang, Xinyan, Yanfei, and Chongyun in the party, alongside Yun Jin, once they clear said requirements during the event.
Welcome to Enkanomiya
Aside from the two new characters, the Version 2.4 Update will open a new region in Teyvat, namely Enkanomiya, which was also leaked by several Genshin Impact leakers months before miHoYo formally announced its inclusion in the in-game world.
The said region, according to Gamepur, is an underwater nation sealed away for thousands of years because of its corruption that was made by the Abyss.
The island itself, which can be unlocked if they have the Key of the Moon-Bathed Deep, which they can obtain from Shrine Maiden Tsuyuko, is full of ruins that uncovers their ancient civilization with the help of its unique transition between day and night through its artificial sun, Dainichi Mikoshi.
As their venture within Enkanomiya to unveil its mysteries, there will encounter potential threats such as the Bathysmal Vishaps, which according to Gematsu, are cunning social predators that can hunt together in packs, while taking advantage of their surroundings in combat.
On the other hand, the Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames can unleash Pyro attacks that can deal delayed bursts of damages regardless if the players' characters are shielded or not.
