Dota 2's Crownfall Update Could Bring a New Hero, Immortals, Game Mode

Dota 2 is gearing up for its latest patch, the Crownfall update, which would bring the new Ringmaster hero into the forefront of the battlefield.

Data miners have also uncovered some code that suggests what you could expect to see in Valve's newest release. Since the announcement of the latest major update for Dota 2, the community has been eagerly anticipating what Valve could bring to the table. While the company is known for being secretive about its updates, data miners have frequently undermined this in the game's source code.

DOTA DM SPAM, a Russian data mining group, discovered previously unknown details related to the soon-to-come Cronwfall update. In a message post, the Telegram group "Dota Степана" said that the changes were last made before the release of the second half of Dota 2's battle pass in 2022, according to AFK Gaming.

The data mining group made the discovery on Mar. 15 and found some changes that were made to the Steam DB related to Dota 2. While these kinds of details may not seem much for an average player, the Telegram group explained that this was considered a rare occurrence.

A few months ago, data miners also discovered lines of code that suggested the release of Arcanda for the game's lovebirds, Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit. While many fans speculated about the release of the two arcana being made on Valentine's Day, this was ultimately met with disappointment.

In the last month, another group also discovered lines of code that suggested a possible arcade-style game mode that featured Dota 2's Queen of Pain as the main boss. Furthermore, during the last TI, Valve made an announcement saying the name of the next hero that would join the lineup.

A New Hero

In Dota 2's initial trailer featuring the Ringmaster, many players found some hints that the new hero could share similarities with Puppet Master from Heroes of Newerth (HoN). The latter has an ultimate skill that summons a Voodoo Puppet of the targeted hero. This doll could be attacked and would relay the damage to the actual hero, said Gosu Gamers.

In Valve's introduction video of the Ringmaster, the hero is heard saying, "They [heroes' are all egomaniacs, so they are natural performers." The footage ends with the unreleased hero saying, "Why not capture heroes?"

In Dota 2's Crownfall update, there are many changes that Valve could bring, and many that players believe the company should make. Some of the most popular updates that players want include a buff to the item Roshan's Banner, which is dropped by Roshan in his second and subsequent deaths.

Another update that players want is for Valve to make high ground in Dota 2 less dangerous and threatening. Having the terrain advantage is crucial in pushing an enemy's base and some believe that it is a little too difficult to push the adversary's high ground, according to Forbes.
